“I actually started out as a roadie for a local musician. That was really my first taste of the whole music industry.”. This sparked an interest in Matt to develop his vocal technique, which he did behind closed doors and without any formal training. Soon thereafter, he put his voice to use in the place he called his second home; Christ The King Lutheran Church. Through contacts and being at the right place in the right time, Matt was able to put together a band which they called Difference. Difference not only lead worship on Sundays at Matt’s home church but they also put out a self titled album. “One of the first songs I ever wrote was called ‘Never Believed In Angels (‘Till God Sent Me You)’ and was actually written about my best friend. It was so much fun watching it develop.” The song also gained him air play on the national Christian radio station, K-Love.
